PA-1410 HSCI compatable cables

L2 Linker

Hello there,

We're upgrading from a pair of PA-3020 firewalls to new PA-1410s and require a DAC cable for the HSCI ports. However, we're unsure which vendor/brand offers compatible options.

Specifically, we're considering the following cables:

  • Cisco SFP-H10GB-CU5M (5m)
  • StarTech.com SFP-H10GB-CU5M Compatible 5m (SFPCMM5M)

We've encountered some online posts mentioning potential issues connecting HSCI ports, but the information regarding PAN-OS versions or hardware compatibility is unclear.

Therefore, we kindly request assistance in confirming if either of the listed cables are compatible with PA-1410 HSCI ports, and if not, could you recommend a suitable alternative? Additionally, addressing the reported "HSCI port connection issues" would be immensely helpful in ensuring a smooth setup.

Hi @AK74 ,

I'm not familiar with those specific brands but the datasheets confirm that the data interfaces implemented by Palo Alto Networks are based on industry standards:

While we are at the topic of 1410.

we are upgrade from 3020 to 1410 and 1410 come with pre-load 11.00 PAN-OS and we are currently run 10.2.8-h3.

is it better to downgrade it to 11 or move forward to 11 ?

Any advise is much appreciated.

Thanks
