PA 3430 is not detecting DAC cable

L4 Transporter

Hi,

We have a lab with two PA3440 ina cluster. We are connecting the interface HA with a DAC cable. The Palo detects the SFP but not the cable. If we take these SFPs and DAC cables in a PA 5220 everything is being detected. So is there any incompatibility in DAC cables in model 3430??? is there any document to check what cables support PA3440?

This is the cable:

vendor-name': Amphenol        , 'vendor-part-number': NDCCDD-0005     , 'vendor-part-rev': A   , 'vendor-serial-number': APE23390050FE1 , }, 'type': Ethernet, }

This is the PN: PAN-SFP-PLUS-CU-5M

thanks

Hi @BigPalo ,

I was able to find this document:

Key Specifications for Palo Alto Networks Interfaces and Transceivers

Hope this helps,

-Kim.

Thanks Kiwi,

I found that link. I checked that our SKU is listed:PAN-SFP-PLUS- CU-5M but the cable is not being identified.

Hi,

Did you ever found a solution for this?

We have the exact same issue with the PA-3420 not supporting 3d party 25GB cables. 10GB cables from the same brand work perfectly though.

We spent weeks running around after this problem for our 3430 appliances (on 10.2.3, using PAN-QSFP28-DAC-5M). The problem was resolved with a software upgrade.

  • PAN-207043 Fixed an issue on PAN-OS 10.2.3 where ports 41-44 remained down
when the PAN-QSFP28-DAC-5M cable was connected.
