PA-VM 10.0.4 Deployment

L1 Bithead

Hello all,

I requested for a PA-VM evaluation license using 10.0.4, tried using VMware Workstation import the .OVA using 6Gb RAM and 4 cores, everything looks fine, until it gets a management IP a few seconds later says "Broadcast message from root" and "The system is going down for system halt NOW" stops PAN Software and shutdown virtual machine.

I tried on another PC but got same results

This not happen with any other unlicensed version, just with a license software

Anyone has experienced same issue and how to fix it please!

@ClaytonMatt

you need to factory reset the device first and then go through the steps.

to factory reset, when it's getting booted, press any key, when you see the message, and type maint, it will go to the maintenance mode and you can reset the device to factory and reboot.

Thank you.  This got me past the issue.

Thanks for the solution, it's working for me. However, can I check with you if you are able to apply the license correctly after executing "Retrieve license keys from license server"? Another thing, when I clicked on "Dynamic Update"  > "Check Now" then i got  error:

Failed to check content upgrade info due to Peer certificate cannot be authenticated with given CA certificates

Appreciate for your advise.

Thanks

Hi @verg61 I have tried the shared solution with the below mentioned softwares and VM configuration as per snap, which i shared. But still getting error.

Also, i have observed even if we change the time values in the PA-VM.vmx file from true to false, still the file gets auto corrected to default true value when we power on VM Machine.

1- VMware Workstation 16 Pro 16.2.4 build-20089737

2- PA-VM-ESX-10.2.5.vm_eval.ova

If anyone have other solution, i will really appreciate. Thanks in advance !!!!!
