Hi Experts,
We've Panorama in HA mode running on 8.1 and due to some reason, secondary is now active. Once the primary is back, with the preemptive checked, primary is still passive.
Can someone please assist why primary is still passive?
Note: pls be noted preemptive isn't enabled on secondary(active now)

Hi,
Can you enable pre-emptive on secondary and check the failover?
compared to firewall HA, Panorama HA is much less complicated.
And preemptive should be enabled in most cases so that primary member always returns to its active status.
Unlike firewalls, however, Panorama sticks to the primary and secondary roles throughout failures.

Thanks for the reply. But my concern is why the primary firewall is still passive with having pre-emptive enabled ?

Can you enable pre-empt on secondary firewall and check once. And check that both are able to exchange keep alive messages or not.
