Service Route Configuration

L2 Linker

Hello, we currently use the management interface for all under service route configuration but we want to start using a different interafce for getting updates for PA software, Wildfire etc,  if we customize and make the changes to the required services, the other services not changed will be "use default" (source interface and source address), can you advise what this "use default" equates to??

also, for the services we are changing, we are looking to use the internet connected interface and IP address, do we need to create a policy, NAT and route for this or will it just follow the defaut route for the zone the internet connected interface is in?

Thanks

Ryan

Hi @RyanJohnstone,

'Use default' means that it will be using the management source interface/source IP address.

For the services you are changing, if you don't have a policy rule in place that allows this traffic then you will need to explicitly configure rules to allow it (unless it's intrazone traffic as explained in previous response) :

Hi,

Use default is actually mgmt interface&ip address.

If you will change this configuration to use your external interface/ip then your traffic will hit your default intrazone-default policy (same zone traffic), which is permitted by default.
