When using  show routing resource command. Why is there a overlimit value when we are under the 2500 limit count

LOBAL ROUTING RESOURCE USAGE:
==========
All Routes (total): 1088 (limit 2500)
All IPv4 Routes (total): 1088 (limit 2500) (overlimit counts 393372562)

I have not worked with this particular counter and cannot find documentation on it.  But based on how counters work in general on the PA I see two possibilities.

Your route table grows beyond the limit periodically and is incrementing the counter and falling back to your normal level.

This is some kind of bug that is incrementing the counter falsely.

I would check this periodically and see if it is still incrementing and when during the day that happens as a start.

Thank you Steve. I agree with both as I could not find any documentation either. The counter hasn't increments at all been same since we summarizated routes to get us below box limit so I wil watch it to see it ever changes and may reboot too see if it clears and advise forum

You could also see if this is covered by

clear counter all

So you don't have to reboot.
