URL filtering allow_list configure without URL license(BC-url database)

L0 Member

Hi all,

We have try to configure the URL allow list in policy without the URL filtering license.

but we fail because we just config the allow list.

In URL filtering process execution

1. black list

2. allow list

3. custom categories

4. BC URL categories

So, if we just configure the allow list, another URL would not be control it because the database is empty.

that are the solution:

1. create custom categories -> name "Block_all", URL list: *

2. In URL filtering profile -> add -> name "URL_site" , allow list:  *.google.*   ,  "Block_all" action on block

3. add security policy -> from trust to untrust -> profile URL filtering "URL_site"  -> allow

4. commit

I hope could be help us(I'm not found the configuration guide for this , it may be so easy, but it take we long time)

Yes it can. You need to enter in custom URL lists under a custom URL category, though. However, this approach doesn't sound like that would be a problem for you.

Nudge this topic to the top ...

Bottom line question is can the PAN be manually configured to selectively permit or deny specific URL's without the URL license and URL categorization service?

If so how is it done?
