userid and password not working

L0 Member

Hello,

I have a PA-3020 appliance and at the startup changed my password and then did a factory reset. at the following prompt

. PA-HDF login

I put in username and password and keep getting that login is incorrect. Is there another way to physically reset the appliance so that I can login? Thanks

Hi @moman63 ,

Please wait until the login prompt shows PA-Model such as "PA-220 login:" The system is not ready while in PA-HDF.

Hi @moman63 ,

As @JayGolf mentioned your device is likely not fully booted.

It usually takes a couple of minutes before a device is ready to use the default admin/admin login

Please check the following KB that explains which login prompt you should wait for:
Default username and password of Admin-Admin Does Not Work After Factory Reset

There are several discussions here on LIVE discussing the same topic.  Here's just one for reference:

PAN-VM 10.0.6 default username and password

Hope this helps,

-Kim.
