Hi there,

I'm waiting for that release too. PA TAC when asked at the start of May said the tentative release was August 2023.

cheers,

Seb.

Hi,

I'm waiting for that release too as we have encountered few SNMP issues with current 10.2.x versions. PA TAC informed the tentative release date would be 03 August 2023.

We have experienced and reported to TAC an Issue with Active/Active HA Virtual-Interfaces.  This was escalated to Engineering and identified as an Issue, and we were told by TAC that the fix would be in 10.2.5 code, which release was August sometime.  Can we get a release date?  I see 10.2.4-h4 released last night, but there is no mention of our Active/Active HA Virtual-Interfaces issue in either Known Issues or Addressed Issues in this release...

Same here, waiting for the same fix...

Some news about the release of the 10.2.5??

I have the PA220 - root partion 100% full problem. TAC says it will be fixed in 10.2.5 for the PA220.

Support told me it would be released on 8/10 which did not happen.  The latest rumor I heard on Reddit is 8/17.  We are waiting on this release for the TLS renegotiation fix.

Hi @HW-ChrisME ,

I also have the PA-220 root partition problem.  One thing that helped was that I upgraded to 10.2.4-h3.  The upgrade process dropped the root utilization from 97% to 86%.  It is slowly climbing again, but at least I have a reprieve from the multiple daily critical alerts.  Did PA TAC give you a workaround on which file to delete or how to manually decrease the disk space utilization?

Thanks,

Tom

Hi @TomYoung ,

no, nothing in the knowledgebase helped me. My root partions have no free space, 100% full. Webserver does not respond on some devices. You are right, PAN OS Upgrade helped a few days. You can do one more update to 10.2.4-h4 :-).

I have no workaround and i hope the 10.2.5 will fixed the issue on PA220, too.. Otherwise I would downgrade to 10.1.10-h2. In this release this bug is marked as fixed.

@TomYoung PA TAC has informed rebooting the firewall would be a workaround in order to reduce root partition utilization to around 90%. If firewalls are not deployed in redundancy or HA, TAC can also reduce the partition by logging in to the root. For that you need a senior support engineer from palo alto who can access the root. As i was informed, only few senior engineers can login to the root.

Hi.

oh, yes. After reboot the PA220 the root partition is at 90%. Then i can use the command:

debug software disk-usage cleanup deep threshold 91

Today the root partition is still at 90%. 🙂

10.2.5 release is there.

I hope PAN-219659 -

"Fixed an issue where root partition frequently filled up and the following error message was displayed:

Disk usage for / exceeds limit, xx percent in use, cleaning filesystem."
is the permant fix for this issue!
