firewalls sending logs to IOT but no traffic from IOT to the firewall to apply device based policies

We are encountering a problem where the IOT portal is receiving logs from the firewall and identifying devices properly on the portal.

But on the firewall we cannot apply policies based on the devices identified as in other terms there is no traffic back from the IOT portal to the firewall with devices identified in order to apply policies.

PS: we have a vm-100 .
