VirusTotal False Positive: ccml.io domain

L0 Member

Hi there -

Content Camel (https://www.contentcamel.io/) is a b2b provider of marketing and sales software. We manage the ccml.io domain for our customers for use in b2b communication with their end users and customers. The short domain is designed as a low volume, direct communication domain/app, so it won't show up with a lot of volume or indexed pages.

Any abuse of our system via free trials or malicious use is monitored, identified, and dealt with immediately, and we've generally had few issues with reputation.

A customer did just report VirusTotal flags and PA firewall blocking the ccml.io domain rendering our application unusable for one of our paying customers.

We're happy to work with the team here in any way necessary to remove this false positive for the https://ccml.io domain.

Thanks!

You could report the false positive for palo alto url categorization on: https://urlfiltering.paloaltonetworks.com/

But if you want it to be removed from virustotal, https://support.virustotal.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002121185-I-am-experiencing-a-false-positive-my-... as per their page:

"

I am experiencing a false positive, my file or site should not be detected.
VirusTotal simply aggregates the output of different antivirus vendors and URL scanners, it does not produce any verdicts of its own. As such, if you are experiencing a false positive issue, you should notify the problem to the company producing the erroneous detection, they are the only ones that can fix the issue. Please note that even if we were able to remove the flag, the users of such product would still be blocked from accessing your site.

Please find the company on our contributors page and reach out to them.

Thanks, that's helplful! The Virus Total vendor list is incomplete (eg no listing for "Xcitium Verdict Cloud"), but we've reported to the underlying databases that we can. Appreciate the info.
