What is the difference between API vs Python for scripting? Whats benefit of one over ther other Does anyone a actaull working pything script i can mimic? I have followed all instrcitions and cant seem to get python to work

The REST API makes web services requests to perform functions outlined in the API guide.

 

Think of python as an automated way to wrap normal CLI usage into the device.  So your python scripts follow along what you would do manually if you logged into the device and follow entered the commands.
