How do I uninstall Cortex XDR from Windows devices using a GPO

L0 Member

Good day,

We are transitioning off Cortex XDR and need to do a mass uninstall for 200+ devices on our network.

Right now our only solution is to do so manually, one by one, using the cytool protect disable function etc.

Is there a way to do this using a Group Policy instead of one by one?

@Nivesh_Oudit,

There's multiple ways to uninstall the agent, but assuming that you do so before your licensing expires the easiest way is simply issuing the uninstall command to the endpoint directly. No reason to go to each machine to remove it, unless you've let the licensing expire and can no longer access the console.

If that isn't an option for some reason you can uninstall it easily enough as long as you recorded (or change so you know) your uninstall password. You would simply pass the UNINSTALL_PASSWORD parameter with whatever your password happens to be.
