Link and path monitoring enabled but no link and path group configured

L2 Linker

Hi All,

We have Link and path monitoring enabled but no link and path group configured.

Actually I never enabled the link and path monitoring so my question is , is it enabled by default?

Also, if we don't have any link or path group configured as in my case, is it not active ?

I could not find any doc for the same.

@BPry  Can you please help me on this or anyone ? Thanks

Hi @shafi021 ,

It actually says so in the appliance help pages:

"Enable and configure either path monitoring or link monitoring to help trigger a failover if a path or link goes down. Configure at least one Path Group for path monitoring and configure at least one Link Group for Link Monitoring."

Hope this helps.

Hi @shafi021 ,

I believe it was discussed here as well:

https://live.paloaltonetworks.com/t5/general-topics/ha-link-monitoring/td-p/306595

Basically you'll need to configure at least one Path Group for path monitoring and configure at least one Link Group for Link Monitoring.

No interfaces will be monitored if you don't put any in the Link Group.

Hope this helps !

Thank you Kiwi for the reply. I read the post but there is no document on this. I was hoping to see it in some Doc. Thanks
