Panorama on Vmware - memory usage

Not applicable

Hi Guys,

We have installed Wind 2008 server, with 20 GB Ram with 800 Gb HDD for Panorama.

But when we configure panorama, it does not show that it can use anything more than 3.6 Gb of Ram.

We have installed VM ware Server, which on Vmware site says would support up to 8 GB ram.

But in our case, the Panorama cannot be modified to anything more than 3.6 Gb post installation(Find attached)

Please advise if there is a way to increase the RAM used by Panorama through your tech team.

Rgds,

Tauseef

Hi,

the RAM limit is inside the PANOS 32bit. A 32 bit architecture cannott address more than 4 GB of memory.

You see 3.6 GB only because the other RAM is used for peripheral device's memory mapping (video, audio, I/O, etc).

Regards
