Problems with i7 Processor Laptop and Palo Alto Networks GlobalProtect: Any Advice?

L0 Member

Hello everyone,

I’m reaching out for help with some issues I’m experiencing on my i7 processor laptop  while using Palo Alto Networks GlobalProtect. The problems are affecting both the performance of my laptop and my VPN connectivity. Here’s a detailed overview of the issues I’m encountering:

1. Performance Issues:

  • Laptop Slowdown: Whenever Palo Alto Networks GlobalProtect is active, my laptop becomes noticeably sluggish and unresponsive. Simple tasks take longer to perform, and there’s a significant lag that affects overall productivity.
  • High Resource Utilization: It seems that GlobalProtect is consuming a large amount of system resources, including CPU and RAM. This high resource usage may be contributing to the performance degradation I’m experiencing.

2. VPN Connectivity Problems:

  • Frequent Disconnects: I’m experiencing frequent disconnections from the VPN connection provided by GlobalProtect. This leads to interruptions in my work and requires constant reconnection.
  • Connection Stability: Maintaining a stable VPN connection has been challenging. There are intermittent connectivity issues that disrupt my workflow and affect my ability to stay connected to the network.

3. Error Messages:

  • VPN Connection Errors: I’m seeing several error messages related to VPN connection failures. These errors seem to be linked to GlobalProtect and are affecting my ability to establish and maintain a stable VPN connection.
  • Network Configuration Issues: There are also error messages related to network configuration, which may be contributing to the connectivity problems I’m facing.

Troubleshooting Steps Taken:

  • Restarted Laptop: I’ve rebooted my laptop to see if that would resolve the issues, but the problems persist.
  • Updated GlobalProtect: I’ve ensured that GlobalProtect is updated to the latest version.
  • Checked Network Settings: I’ve reviewed my network settings to ensure they are configured correctly.

Despite these efforts, the issues continue to affect my work. Has anyone else faced similar problems with Palo Alto Networks GlobalProtect on an i7 processor laptop? If so, what solutions or troubleshooting steps have you found effective? Any advice on how to improve performance and connectivity would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Best regards,

Olivia
