Swapping HA connections from Dedicated HA ports to data ports

L1 Bithead

I have a pair of 3200 firewalls in HA Active/Passive, connected via the dedicated HA1-A / HA1-B copper ports.    I need to swap these over to use a pair of fibre ports on the data plane, configured as HA ports.  The fibre data ports are pre-cabled together in readiness.

In terms of steps to implement this, I was thinking ;

1) Configure data ports as HA

2) Change HA1-B from using the dedicated copper port to the fibre data ports on both firewalls

3) Commit changes

4) Change HA1-A from using the dedicated copper port to the fibre data ports on both firewalls

5) Commit changes

Would this be the easiest / non-disruptive way to achieve this or do I need to suspend/break the HA then re-establish ?

Hi @Tim_Jenkins ,

That is correct. I would configure data ports as HA, change HA1-B to fiber data ports, commit, change HA1-A to fiber data ports, and commit changes.
