Hello,
We have a connection with our Business Partner. This BGP over IPSEC Tunnel. We have configured an IPSEC Tunnel and then a BGP Peering over the tunnel. We are sending our DNAT IP range (Public) to them by configuring export routes. They are receiving the routes. Similarly, they are sending their Source Public IP (Dedicated to this connection) by configuring export routes on their firewall (Palo Alto). On the inside switch, we have a filter for the incoming routes and accept the routes received with a specific community value. We are doing another export rule on our side to export the received route from Business Partner to the inside of our network with append and then adding the community value. We have a similar setup at another data center and the route is the same. So, for one DC we are doing a prepend on the export route to make it a less preferred route.
The problem is that this setup is not working as expected. The firewall is sending the route inside of our network but not matching the community value for the switch to accept the route. And on the firewall where we are doing the prepend, the route is not being prepended as well. This worked fine in the lab but not in production.
Your input is much appreciated.
