PA USER-ID - WILL A 64BIT VERSION BE RELEASED?

L1 Bithead

It appears that there are newer version of the user-id application but looking at the install documents, the new versions are also 32 bit.  Is there a time frame on when Palo will come out with a windows 64 bit version?

Hi @RRAPP ,

As of now, Palo Alto doesn't have a specific timeline for releasing a 64-bit version. The current version is 32, but it works fine on both 32-bit/64-bit systems.

@RRAPP,

The vast majority of directory sync tools that I've seen (Webex, ProofPoint, PAN) are all 32-bit applications. Since there's no performance improvement that these applications would see by moving to 64-bit I wouldn't expect to see them make that switch short of a major application overhaul or Microsoft dropping support for 32-bit applications.
