Convert from old PAN-OS configuration to new one.

Is it possible to convert from PAN- OS 6.1 configuration to 8.1 with Expedition?

A customer recently purchased 52x0 and is using 40x0 in production.
Unfortunately minimum version of 52x0 is 8.0 and maximum version of 40x0 is 6.1.

If Expedition isn’t able to use that kind of scenario, is there better solution?

Have you tried to import the 6.1 into the 52xx platform? Panos should handle the conversion .... if not please let us know... Thanks

Some documents on restoring or hardware replacement procedure mention that two platforms have to be same OS version or something like that. Is there any documents mentioning auto conversion when importing configuration file of old OS version.

I will be doing something similiar in a few weeks and would love to know if I can just import an older config into a new 52x0 series and be OK. I'm not sure what version they are currently running right now but I doubt it's older than 6.1.
