Recommended PAN-OS version

Hi community

Today I was informed by @pshanubhog that there now is an article available in the live community about the recommended/preferred software versions by PaloAlto Networks support. The article contains the preferred versions by support for PAN-OS, User-ID Agent, TS-Agent and GlobalProtect. So fo all who did not know about this article (including me), you can find it here:

-->https://live.paloaltonetworks.com/t5/Customer-Resources/Support-PAN-OS-Software-Release-Guidance/ta-...

Keep in mind that this recommendation is a general one and does not take into account specific customer configurations, so testing the releases in your environments is still recommended prior to installing it in production.

Thanks PaloAlto for making this information available!

Regards,

Remo

Re: Recommended PAN-OS version

A recommendation can only follow a thorough review of one's specific scenario

The preferred releases are what TAC sees as generally very stable versions

Semantics but important to remember none the less :)

Re: Recommended PAN-OS version

Whats the difference between recommended and preferred? From the description in the topic this sounds like recommended even if the word prederred is used...

@reaper as I wrote ;) Even a recommendation nobody should blindly follow
