LIVEcommunity's new #ProductMention feature allows you to easily find all relevant content with the click of a mouse.   LIVEcommunity has a super-cool and useful new feature we’re excited to share with you: Product Mentions. Part of a comprehensive and descriptive product catalog, you can now mention a product in a discussion using a hashtag — for example, #Cortex, #PrismaAccess, #App-ID and so on — for easy access to all relevant posts and user-generated content.    This new feature makes it even easier to find related product information when posting a discussion, reply, or comment. Product Mentions also allow you to subscribe to products and request notifications regarding product-related activity. Neat, right?   Read on to learn how to use #ProductMentions.    How Product Mentions work:   Let’s say you’re roaming our discussion forums and decide to create a post about your product, Cortex XDR. Type # — AKA the pound of hashtag symbol — first and then the product name to mention the product in your post. Your post will then appear in the search results, as shown below.       Once you choose your product and post your message, you’ll see the following:              You’ve now mentioned your product in your post...but it doesn’t end there. If you’re interested in learning what other conversations about Cortex XDR are happening across the community, simply click “View Products” and the product icon on your post.      You’ll then be taken to the dedicated product page where you’ll find the latest topics, replies, discussions, and posts happening across the community related to Cortex XDR! Take a look:        This #ProductMention feature doesn’t just work in discussion forums. Using a product mention will associate it with all content related to that product—including user-generated posts, expert-written articles, blogs authored by the LIVEcommunity team, webinars, and events. It also gives you the capability to search the entire product catalog, which syncs in real-time with our entire community.    You can even subscribe to products and receive email notifications related to content that is associated with their favorite product.        As you’re navigating through our homepage you will also find a new area “Top Mentioned Products” where you can see the most popular/most discussed products on the right-hand side of the screen (shown below).  We hope you’re as excited about this new feature as we are! Beacon added 11 new Digital Learning courses in October 2021.   Did you know that Beacon, Palo Alto Networks’ online hub for educational resources, regularly publishes new trainings and courses?   Each week, new technical assets are published to Beacon, adding to its library of educational content to help our customers confidently install, deploy, and optimize Palo Alto Networks products.   Here are all the digital learnings that were published in Beacon this past month.      New Digital Learnings Published in October     Threat Prevention Security Subscription Published October, 2021; Length: 1 hour and 30 minutes    The Threat Prevention Security Subscription course introduces the Palo Alto Networks Threat Prevention subscription, which protects your network by providing multiple layers of prevention, confronting threats at each phase of an attack. In addition to traditional IPS capabilities, Threat Prevention has the unique ability to detect and block threats on all ports instead of invoking signatures based on a limited set of predefined ports.   WildFire Subscription Services Published October 6, 2021; Length: 40 minutes    Palo Alto Networks WildFire® malware prevention subscription service is an advanced cloud-based analysis and prevention engine for malware. The WildFire Service identifies previously unknown malware and generates signatures that Palo Alto Networks firewalls can use to then detect and block the malware. Whether it’s inappropriate because of language, content, or looks like spam or advertising, there’s good news: As long as you have an active LIVEcommunity account, you can play a part and report this content.    In the window of any discussion, you will see a drop down option.         You have two options:   Report This Content Mark As Spam   Report This Content   If you want to report this content for any reason—language, content, spam, or even just because it’s in the wrong place—you can choose this option.     Enter the reason why you want to report this content, and then click “Notify Moderator”. We will take it from there.   Mark As Spam   When you choose this option, please be careful: Once you click this option, the post is immediately marked as spam and no one is able to see it. If you are sure this post is spam, you can click the button. Subscriptions and notifications are critical components for interacting with the community. Here’s a primer on how to make them work for you.   Subscriptions  Subscribing to an area is an easy way to stay up-to-date on the happenings on that area in LIVEcommunity.    If a page or area is of interest to you, you can subscribe to them to receive notifications—by email or in the community or both—when a new blog or article is posted to the area or a comment or reply is made.   To subscribe to an area, blog, or article, expand the “Options” dropdown in the upper righthand corner and click Subscribe from the dropdown.   We recommend you start by subscribing to the landing page for the product you use. How to Recognize an Accepted Solution   Replies to discussions can be validated as an Accepted Solution by certain community members. LIVEcommunity's Accepted Solution feature adds visibility to discussions that have been solved, and helps you identify problem-solving information fast.    Solutions can be verified—aka accepted—by the author of the discussions, Cyber Elite experts, LIVEcommunity team members, and other Palo Alto Networks employees.    Community-Expert verified PAN-expert verified You can tell what type of community member created the Accepted Solution by what icon appears next to it (look right for the two icons →).   Accepted Solutions help build knowledge in the LIVEcommunity and help members find answers fast.      Look for the Green Checkmark   Discussions with Accepted Solutions have a green checkmark to the left of their title, as shown below:          If you enter the discussion you can immediately go to the accepted solution by clicking the "Go to Solution" link.  This is especially useful if the discussion has many replies and multiple pages.         We hope this feature gives you confidence to apply the recommended solution if you're having the same issue.       UP NEXT — Step 7: How to Manage Your Subscriptions and Email Notifications   ← Return to the Welcome Guide   ... Are you ready to become a conversation starter? If you have searched for an answer, topic, or query and have not found what you’re looking for, then your next step might be to post a discussion. There are many ways to post a message to the discussion areas on the LIVEcommunity. Let’s go through them together.    Posting a Discussion from the Homepage   You can start a conversation from the main LIVEcommunity page by clicking the "Start a conversation" button.   Please be sure to select a discussion area that matches what you would like to post this new discussion to, as there are many discussion areas in the LIVEcommunity.       Starting a Discussion in a Board    Another way is to start a conversation is to go directly to the board where you want to post. You can do this under Collaboration > Discussion. You will see there is everything from General Topics to more than a dozen technologies and tools.   Once inside the area you need, Click the Start a conversation button at the top of the page. In the Subject field, enter your message title. Tip: Make your subject clear and concise, as it is the only part of the message that shows up on the message-listing page. In the Body field, type your message. Be sure to include all necessary details, especially, for technical topics. Format and spell check your message, as needed. You even have an area to drag and drop any files that may help others answer your questions. Click Post to post your topic or Cancel to abandon the new message.   Note: By default, the "Email me when someone replies" option is selected. If you do not want to be notified about any responses, you have to uncheck this option in the upper part of the window.   How to Reply to a Discussion   While inside of a post, simply click the Reply button to respond to a particular post.
