Cortex XDR exclusions in McAfee/Trellix

L0 Member

Hi

We are currently deploying Cortex XDR as a managed service. However we have on-prem McAfee/Trellix which we are to keep. I've put in McAfee exclusion for "c$\Program Files\Palo Alto Networks". So anything in "Palo Alto Networks" and any subfolders do not get scanned by McAfee. Are there any other exclusions that need to be put in place?

Recently I've learnt about c$\ProgramData\Cyvera is it something that should be excluded too?

Thank you for your help.

Regards

M

Hi Mr_Kolonicny,

Yes, c$\ProgramData\Cyvera is part of the XDR agent. For a list of agent resources you can checkout the below linked resources per operating system. This should help you determine what exclusions to put into McAfee.

Windows agent resources
Linux agent resources

Mac agent resources

Best Regards,

Hi M,

we had major problems deploying XDR on sytem with McAfee... we ended up creating a custom McAfee Deployment Package / Task that first removed the Protection (but kept the McAfee Agent) with the Endpoint Removel-Tool, then installed XDR then removed the Agent (again with the Ednpoint Removal Tool).... worked like a charm.

Cheers
