Hello,
After applying Microsoft July 2023 updates to server 2022, Edge no longer works. It opens to a white screen and then crashes. Event Viewer shows a faulting application name; msedge.exe. Windows 10, 11, Server 16, AND 19 all seem to be working fine. We are running a couple of different versions of Cortex XDR (8.1.0.40433 and 8.0.1.33809.) If I uninstall Cortex Edge works fine.
Tried Edge 114.0.1823.79 and 67

Hi @paul.leach
Thank you for writing to live community!
Based on your above observation it seems to be application conflict/compatibility issues with one of the protection module in your specific case because per your update edge works fine post XDR agent removal.
Here is the guide that can be used as a starting point for determining the source of the problem. You may start with Step 2 as shared in the guide "Verify if the issue is related to the Exploit protection profile. "
https://knowledgebase.paloaltonetworks.com/KCSArticleDetail?id=kA14u0000004NPrCAM
Once you identify module causing this you may submit the logs with our TAC for investigation or you may directly open support case by collecting and attaching the logs needed for support investigation.
Please mark the response as "Accept as Solution" if it answers your query.
Hope this helps!
Thanks

Disableing "Browser Exploits Protection" in Exploit profile works for 2022 servers with July patches.

Awesome! Thanks @ChristianSV for identifying and sharing the module. However it won't be good recommendation to keep this module as disabled but for time being yes till support shares you the solution, therefore open support case with our TAC along with relevant logs and details.

Hello,
Same problem for us on Windows Server 2022. Any update ? Thanks

This isn't a solution. It's a lot of time and work you should already be testing and fixing internally.

Same problem at my company. Based on the other responses here this is clearly not an isolated problem. Is Palo reviewing this?

Hi @Rdesjardins @DevinGreco @Andrew_Cooper
Indeed disabling "Browser Exploits Protection" in Exploit profile is not a solution however its interim workaround so there is no impact to BAU. Engineering is already looking into this and we will update this thread as updates are available.
Hope this helps!
Thank You
